Thoughts about this month’s income report:
This is the first income report I’ve done in nearly a month. For most of 2022 I’ve been focused on the Income School method to improve my Google rankings. I think this is reflected in the outcome that my Google traffic has greatly improved. Overall, most everyone else was stagnant except for Amazon which seems quite a bit higher. I’m not too worried, since I know that the foundation I am building with the Project 24 method is so much more solid and sustainable than what I had before. While it may not be as lucrative as having a bunch of pins about vitamins for anxiety take off on Pinterest, that doesn’t do much for my site long term since it’s not bringing in my ideal reader. I feel really good about the work I’ve done and where it’s taking me. I feel like I finally know what I need to do. If you are just starting out and not interested in the Pinterest blogger throw spaghetti-at-the-wall model, I’d encourage you to check out Income School! It’s really good for people like me who are analytical and driven by patterns and numbers. It’s also great if your idea is more of a niche site rather than a blog. It took me a really long time to realize that my site is kind of a hybrid blog/niche site. The prevailing advice in the Pinterest blogger world is that you need to stop being afraid of being on camera or putting your face on your website. But I think that can be taken a tad too far – that’s not ALL you need to do to be successful! Income School is a nice bridge between the blogger model and the niche site model. It recognizes that there is a need for a face and reliability, but at the same time we don’t rely on something “taking off” on social media or our personality somehow being the catalyst for our success. If all that stuff makes you uncomfortable, there’s nothing wrong with you. Work with your strengths and what you like. If you want to discover that, I’d encourage you to read a little book called The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks.
Did I Meet my Goals for November
My only goal at this point is to follow the Income School method. I’m not doing it precisely on their timeline, but that’s okay. My goal now is to have 200 posts and are bringing in close to 200,000 pageviews. I’ll be doing this using their search analysis process to identify ideal topics to write about and also by going back to older posts and letting go of ones that are not performing (using their Battleship process).
Goals for December:
Continue to write posts according to the Income School method.
Back Burner Goals:
I will be working on this in 2023.
